I recently finished LIGHTSHIPS. It is a ten metre long work, lit with ultra-bright LEDs controlled by micro-electronics. Some of the lights are triggered by mobile phones and the drawings were produced by the resident staff of Ipswich Borough Council's new Grafton House building where the work is now installed. I had fun bringing these all together to make them work as one cohesive artwork.

I was very pleased to have been given a chance to design and build a totally new work for the town where I live. It uses new LED technology that is on the edge of development. We will see a lot more of LED lighting in the future and in our everyday life. So this work ushers in new technology as well as a fresh approach for making art.
